The Royal Oak's  Landlord, Darren

Our regulars can vouch for our wide range of hand-pulled cask ales; because they are loved so much, we change the guest ales every few days. Although, we have some favourites permanently on the go to avoid disappointment! One thing's for sure; you'll always enjoy a really good pint.

We support local breweries including York Brewery and Ainsty Ales, and mainstay beers include Timothy Taylor's Landlord and various offerings from Theakston's. We also offer a great range of lagers, including Birra Moretti, San Miguel and Fosters.

Popular (and frequent) guest ales include Wychwood's Hobgoblin, Theakston's Old Peculiar and Black Sheep Brewery's Holy Grail.

We also offer a generous selection of carefully selected wines, ranging from a dry white to a sweet rose, to a full-bodied red. Whatever your preference, we're sure to have a wine to suit you perfectly.

Of course, we also offer a great variety of soft and hot drinks.

Foody Bit!

Sharon Moor has had a lifetime of experience and  is in charge of the kitchen, she ensures that everything is freshly prepared and cooked to her exacting standard, under her watch she is growing our reputation for providing really good wholesome meals.

Through the Winter months we are only open on Sundays , serving a selection of delicious comfort food and home cooked roasts with Sharon’s fabulous Yorkshire puds and nice touches like her own recipe stuffing with the slow roast pork. We have it on good authority that her puddings are divine! Try her lemon and ginger cheesecake or her sticky toffee pudding to name only a couple of choices!

In the Summer we will increase our food opening hours but for the winter come and enjoy our lovely cosy pub with our roaring open fire.

Food is served from 12 til 7pm Sundays,
